Refund policy

Returns at a glance

Our voluntary return window is 5 calendar days after delivery. For eligible online purchases, the statutory 7-day cooling-off period applies instead where it gives you a longer right to cancel. Faulty or incorrect items are handled separately. The five-day window never limits your rights under South African consumer law.

Start a return

Email archivedistrict1@gmail.com with your order number, the item you want to return and whether you would like a refund or exchange. For damage or a fault, describe the problem and include photos if available. Keep your proof of purchase.

We will provide return instructions and confirm the appropriate return address or collection arrangement. Please contact us before sending a parcel, and do not send it directly to a supplier. Our response time does not shorten a valid cancellation period: the date you notify us is what matters.

Voluntary change-of-mind returns: 5 days

For a voluntary return, notify us within five calendar days after delivery. Items must be unworn, unused, unwashed and unaltered, with their original tags, accessories and packaging. Try footwear on indoors on a clean surface and place shoe boxes inside protective outer packaging.

You may request a refund or, subject to stock availability, an exchange. You pay the direct return courier cost for a voluntary change-of-mind or size-choice return. Any delivery charge for an exchange will be explained and agreed before it is arranged. These conditions apply to our voluntary offer only and do not override statutory remedies.

Eligible online cancellations: 7 days

Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, you may cancel within seven days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason or paying a penalty. Only the direct cost of returning the goods may be charged. We will make the full refund required by law within 30 days of cancellation.

Tell us you wish to cancel, take reasonable care of the goods and contact us for return arrangements. We do not treat ordinary supplier-sourced items as personalised goods merely because we order them after your purchase. Any lawful exception must actually apply to the item.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If your parcel arrives damaged or contains the wrong item, contact us as soon as reasonably possible so we can investigate and arrange a remedy. A delayed report does not automatically remove a statutory right.

If goods fail the applicable Consumer Protection Act quality standards within six months after delivery, you may return them at our risk and expense and choose the repair, replacement or refund available under section 56. Normal wear, misuse or damage caused after delivery is assessed separately; we do not use this distinction to exclude a genuine manufacturing defect.

Original packaging, an unboxing video or acceptance of store credit is not a condition for exercising your statutory rights. We will arrange and cover return transport for an incorrect item or a qualifying fault.

Refunds and exchanges

We will confirm the outcome after assessing the returned item. Approved voluntary refunds are processed within 10 business days after receipt and assessment. Statutory refunds follow the applicable legal deadline, even if it is earlier. Refunds are made through the original payment method where possible; bank or payment-provider processing can affect when the credit appears.

For a statutory cancellation, the refund and any permitted return cost follow the rules above. For a voluntary change-of-mind return, the item price is refunded; the original delivery charge is not refunded unless required by law. We do not force store credit instead of a refund that you are entitled to receive.

If an exchange is unavailable, we will discuss a refund or another option with you. We will not substitute a different item without your agreement.
